Over the last several months, devastating extreme weather events including wildfires, floods and storms, have affected tens of thousands of people in the United States, including our colleagues, their families, and the communities where we operate. Recently, a storm has devasted large parts of Illinois and Indiana, leaving many without shelter or electricity for weeks.
The Red Cross is currently working to help those affected by the severe storms that have swept across Northern Indiana and the greater Chicago region. Several of the hardest-hit communities, including Gary, Hammond, East Chicago, Munster, Griffith, and Schererville, Indiana, are communities where many railroaders, customers, and partners live and work. As recovery efforts continue, we have an opportunity to support our neighbors and contribute to local recovery efforts.
To support those affected, the CN Employees' and Pensioners' Community Fund has launched a special fundraising campaign in support of the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. Donations will help provide immediate relief, support recovery efforts, and strengthen preparedness and resilience for future emergencies across the U.S.
To double the impact of your generosity, CN will match your donations dollar for dollar, up to $10,000 USD, if you donate to our campaign before September 14, 2026.
