This fundraiser is to support these exceptional organizations that are participating in the April 2 Homewood launch event for the new initiative, CN Railroaders for Change.
Your gift will be split evenly between the following three organizations:
1. Respond Now : Respond Now serves 22 communities with up to 30,000 individuals annually. The organization provides financial assistance, food support, case management, outreach, supportive housing, and medical respite. Your donations will help prevent eviction for 250+ households annually, with most remaining stably housed, connecting to supports, and reducing pressure on shelters.
2. South Suburban PADS – Shelter Diversion & Housing
Since 1990, SSPADS has delivered nearly 691,000 nights of shelter and 2 million meals. It provides pathways home by helping over 400 people to preserve or access affordable housing homes every year. With its Shelter diversion program, SSPADS will divert 500 households from shelters through 1,000 assessments—critical in a region with only ~90 shelter beds for 12,500 individuals.
3. ANEW -Beyond Violence and Abuse–: ANEW provides shelter, counseling, rehousing, advocacy, and prevention programs to women and gender diverse people. Your gift will help enhance and modernize technology (finance, HR, digital case management) to allow for more efficient workflow and processes to increase capacity to serve more clients who are at risk of homelessness.
